Illustrated advertising campaigns
Illustration for event campaigns – for organisations within the arts, heritage and conservation sectors

Through playful storytelling, I create campaigns that help arts, heritage, and conservation organisations grow their audiences, boost engagement, and celebrate what makes them unique.
From events at museums and royal palaces to gardens, festivals and community projects.
Organisations I've worked with on their events

Christmas at the Royal Pavilion, Brighton & Hove Museums
I was tasked with creating an illustrated campaign to promote a range of Christmas events running at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, to be used in OOH marketing around Brighton and East Sussex, as well as online and in editorial advertising.
These events included the annual ice rink, Christmas carols in the Music Room and Christmas banquets in the Banquet Hall as well as Father Christmas and a mouse trail for children.

Moving Parts:
Newcastle Puppetry Festival
I've designed numerous campaigns for Moving Parts: Newcastle Puppetry Festival. From a 3D paper cut display to advertise 'Tyne Rising' a community performance event (that was also transformed into an animation), to advertising the 4th festival and its events using a combination of photomontage, hand lettering and illustrative elements. I also designed the full brochure for the 4th festival as well as a stand alone illustration to advertise 'Wor Sea Horse Spectacle', scroll further down for an in-depth look at this. The 2023 festival ran for nine days across indoor and outdoor venues in the city, with a packed programme of shows, workshops, talks, and film, as well as two community projects.

Wor Seahorse Spectacle, Moving Parts Arts
I created the illustration used to promote 'Wor Seahorse Spectacle', a community puppetry and heritage project in Newcastle. The illustration was as much to invite local people to participate in the project as to advertise the parade itself. Over four months, 170 local residents took part in creative workshops, culminating in a colourful parade that launched Newcastle Puppetry Festival and drew thousands of spectators.

Beverley Puppet Festival
Beverley Puppet Festival asked me to design the brochures and posters for their biennial puppet festival. I did this for three festivals in a row, and for the second festival, since the COVID pandemic had hit and all live shows had to be cancelled, in order to save the festival and the artists involved, BPF 2020 adapted the festival to host online puppetry workshops instead of live in-person shows. Naturally, they had no imagery to promote this and asked me if I could create an illustration to promote the festival online and also for letterbox-posted brochures that would showcase the online factor, the workshops, the fact it was puppetry and also the year's theme of 'in nature'... quite the brief! I built a mini puppet theatre from cardboard and paper and painted and cut out all of the details. Off the back of this, BPF wanted to change their logo to the collaged/painted version that was on the puppet theatre I created. I went on to design their full brand guidelines and website, you can see this work in 'Brand Identity Design'.

Boundless Christmas Advent
From 2023 to 2025 I have designed Boundless' Christmas Advent campaign. For the first twelve days of December, Boundless offer their members exclusive treats through their partner programmes. My job was to help increase engagement of their email and social media campaigns through lovely christmassy illustrations that would also be reflected on the landing pages, which I designed as well. The 2023 campaign was based around 'The Twelve Days of Christmas', and I animated gifs that were used in emails and on social media to grab attention.
