Hello! I’m Rachael – a freelance illustrator mad about the natural world. Wandering on hikes or daydreaming out the windows of trains, I’m fascinated by the interesting shapes, colours and textures found in nature. I am forever dreaming up ways of using paint, paper and scissors to interpret the flora and fauna I see. I use bold colour and rich painted textures to create intricate, three dimensional collage artworks. In addition, I produce hand-drawn and painted illustrations that I piece together digitally.
I am also a graphic designer, and use my illustration background to inform my design process. I love using hand lettering, interesting textures, and hand-drawn icons to bring websites, marketing and branding design to life.
I have worked with such clients as the RHS, Taste of London, Scilly Flowers, DCUK and Moving Parts Arts.
Arts organisations, festivals, charities and businesses (below) have commissioned my work for use on websites, social media, printed marketing material and packaging. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss an idea; I'd love to hear from you. (If your idea is related to conservation then I'd especially love to team up with you!)
